Removable/External Hard Drive Very good for storing large amounts of data and my personal choice for backing up you PC, easy to use and portable. Many are now USB enabled to further increase ease of use. You can now pick up 80GB+ removable hard drives from around $100 (£60). The only issue with this type of external storage is the initial investment. USB Flash Drive Basically a mini hard drive (roughly 2GB) that easily connects via USB. Flash drives are easy to use, files are easy to manage and they aren't too expensive, starting around $30.00 (£16.00) They don’t hold a great deal of data and due to the small scale are easily lost.File Storage or Back Up Companies There are many companies that specialize in storing your data. You can set up regular intervals when a company such as Databarracks.com will connect to your PC and copy your specified data. The big plus with this type of external storage is the enormous amount of data capable of storage. The big issue with these types of companies is the monthly fee and possibility of their data being stolen or unavailable. You're probably looking at around $14.00 (£7.00) per month for 0.5 GB and up to $280.00 (£155.00) per month for 20GB.
