For the ultimate budget surround sound system you need excellent sound, multiple connectivity, a host of management options and Dolby Digital or DTS compatibility all at a bang up price.
...so to help, here is my personal selection for the best budget surround sound system:
Some issues with the remote
The Verdict

Above all the 4Gamers 5.1 Speaker System sounds astonishing and out performs many high priced systems at more than double the price. It offers Dolby® Digital 5.1, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic® compatibility with connection options for Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox, PC, DVD and TV – this level of connectivity is quite rare and a big bonus.
There is also masses of technology and features to improve your experience;
Speaker Delay Control – this allows you to compensate for the time the sound signal takes to reach the rear and centre speakers.
Dynamic Range Control (DRC) - adjusts the dynamic compression percentage in integers of 0%, 25%, 75% and 100% - What this? Well the best way to put it is that surround sound is very loud and full of bass; you may have noticed that when trying to watch a DVD quietly with your system is down low that all the explosions and music is very load but it is hard to hear less prominent sounds like voices. Well DRC combats this by toning down all the really noisy effects so you can enjoy your movies in full surround at times when quiet is needed.
Individual speaker level control - turn each speaker and sub woofer up and down.
The Dolby® Digital 5.1 Decoder unit - features electric blue LEDs and a bit stream status display to give you a visible report of the unit's status at all times
All satellite speakers can be wall mounted or free standing, and a stylish Subwoofer/Amplifier looks great in its chrome finish with neon blue/purple lighting.
The system also comes complete with a fully function remote control.
The only problems I have is the length of the rear speaker cables and the remote – The speaker cables are a touch short for larger rooms and require extending. The remote works excellently most of the time but occasionally performs the wrong action (e.g. turns up when you want to turn down).
These things are a minor issue and the unbelievable quality, performance and masses of trimmings make this a must buy budget surround sound system.
