    How to Search with Google

Still insist on searching with Google, then adopt a few measures to improve your results...

Google is by far my favorite search engine and the largest one on the internet today. However, on the odd occasion, it still needs a bit of a helping hand to make the perfect web search.

With Google having around 8 billion pages to sift through its worth giving it a bit of help. There are a few tips on how to search with Google that can dramatically improve the results you may be hoping for.

Use Your Local Google Engine First
Many cultures have different names and terms for a whole lot of things, just think about USA to UK...

...Example: Searches for football on Google.com will bring back American football as its highest result, whereas if you search on Google UK, pages of soccer will be displayed.

    Speech Marks
Putting speech marks around your phrase will return highly targeted results.

This is because under search results for a phrase without speech marks the pages returned will contain all of your words but not necessarily in the order you intended.

However, wrap speech marks around your phrase and Google will return your words the exact order intended.

    Cached Pages
You may have noticed that some pages you have tried to visit may have returned error messages stating you are unable to view the page or site due to an error (usually due to maintenance or problems with the hosts servers)...

...But what you may not know is Google regularly stores a copy of that page on its own servers. So if you return to your search results and click on the Cached link underneath the description you will be able to access your page.

    No Matches...?
What if Google fails to make the perfect web search? Never fear, try inputting your search term in Google Groups situated at the top of the page...

This contains many threads and articles covering a limitless range of hobbies and interest...

...you should find the information you are looking for there!
